Christmas is coming…
Although my younger brothers are anxiously awaiting the first snow, I can stand the wait. The cold weather just means my fingers will get numb while I’m cleaning the barn!
We *kind of* got our first snow last night…but it’s more like a heavy frost than a snow.
Although it’s still a month and a half away from December 25th, I’ve already pulled out my Christmas music and began practicing.
It’s not to early to begin planning your Christmas. This year, I wanted to learn about my favorite carols.
Where did they come from?
What kept them so popular?
Who is the face behind the lyrics?

A search for “Christmas Sheet Music” turns up these few noteworthy sites -
http://www.noelnoelnoel.com/leadsht/shtmx.html
http://musiced.about.com/od/lessonsandtips/a/xmasxmeets.htm
http://www.freesheetmusic.net/
These are just a few. There are tons of sites out there – check them our yourself!
A couple “search tips” –
- Use as few words as possible in your search. Try “First Noel” Instead of “The First Noel Christmas Music”
-If all you can find is music that you need to buy, try adding the word “Free” or “Online”. Keep in mind that not all online sheet music is free!
-You might need to add the word “Piano” into your search, unless you want all guitar music.
-Use the words “sheet music” in your search, or you may turn up only tabs. While effective, they are hard to read for those not used to them.
Happy Searching!
