Putting Together Your Highschool Transcripts

November 3, 2009

To any homeschoolers in 9th, 10th, 11th grade – START NOW!
To you procrastinatin’ 12th graders…no, hope is not lost. We can get through this.
Your best choice is to create your own form using several examples. My favorite example can be found here. My mom and I created one kind of like this using Microsoft [...]

The College Puzzle

July 1, 2009

As most of my regular readers have probably noticed, I’ve been kind of infatuated with St. Mary-of-the-Woods College in Indiana. Oh yeah, I’m not one of those teenagers who can’t decide where they want to go, who cringe when they see a college pamphlet coming in the mail, because it means one more choice….naw. I’m [...]

The Annunciation Of Our LORD

March 25, 2009

Over 2000 years ago, there was a young girl called Mary. She was betrothed, but not married, to a man named Joseph.
An angel, having taken the figure and the form of man, came into the house and spoke to her, saying; “Hail, full of grace, the Lord is with thee.” Mary did not speak; she [...]

At least not in this picture. She’ll go day-by-day…sometimes she looks great! Other times…not so much.
The EMPOWER wasn’t working exactly fast enough, so I asked my farrier for a recommendation.
He suggested Calf Manna.
Calf Manna adds protein to Dusty’s diet, helping weight and muscle gain. I feed about 1 1/2 lbs. a [...]

Debunking the Homeschooling Myths

September 15, 2008

“You’re so lucky you’re homeschooled!”
“Why?”
“Oh, you can sleep in all moring, play video games when ever you want, watch TV all day, stay in your PJs all day, spend all day with your horses…”
Or the other half, whispering to my mom -
“Aren’t you worried they won’t be socialzed?”
Or whispering to each other -
“I hear homeschoolers just [...]

Gas Free America

July 15, 2008

Gas prices are driving us ALL up the wall. Here in Illinois, gas jumped from $4.17 to $4.35 overnight! {{EDIT – July 16th, 7:31 pm – now it’s back down to $4.17. **SIGH** }}
So why DOES gas cost so much?
Transportation costs? Ha – the gas companies are CREATING that problem.
There’s less oil to be [...]
